I don&#39;t know what&#39;s sadder, the content/concept, or the fact that a fairly unimpressive career some how translates into a big-budget vanity project.<br /><br />Maybe I&#39;d like this if I were a few years younger. The fantasy world clothing is annoying, but the &#39;pretty girls kidnapped and forced to perform as sex workers&#39; premise really makes me cringe. Guess what, people. Real sexual slavery? Does not involve rhinestones, dance sequences, pretty dressing tables, or fake eyelashes a mile long.<br /><br />And then the audience is encouraged to enjoy the dance/rape sequences, even though it&#39;s torture for the girls, but it&#39;s the bad guys doing it to them, so it&#39;s okay for us to watch and enjoy too, right? <br /><br />Ugh. It&#39;s not an uncommon fantasy (for men or women) but really, on the big screen and sold as an &#39;empowering&#39; story when they transform from sex slave objects for their captor&#39;s pleasure to hot anime warrior objects for the (male) audience&#39;s pleasure? No thanks. It&#39;s really not a step up. <br /><br />Pity, &#39;cause it looks like the movie&#39;s got a very nice visual asthetic.
